Canned Biscuit Dough Donuts
Ingredients
- 2 10-count cans buttermilk biscuits (store brand works best)
- Canola or vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar
- Cinnamon sugar
- Basic Vanilla Icing
- Basic Chocolate Icing
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
In a large, deep skillet or electric fryer, heat oil to 350 degrees. Remove biscuits from can; push a hole through the middle of each one with a plastic straw or your finger (the kids prefer using their fingers). Working in batches of 3 or 4, drop biscuits into hot oil. Fry, turning frequently, until golden brown. Transfer to paper towels to drain. Dust with powdered sugar, shake in a brown paper bag with cinnamon sugar or top with icing. For easy icing, lay donut on top of bowl of icing and turn back and forth in semicircles until evenly coated. Top with sprinkles. Serve warm. Serves 6-8.
